Northeast Fire-Rescue is committed to providing high-quality education and hands-on training for both emergency professionals and members of the community. All trainers follow the American Heart Association courses.

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED.

Select the option that best suits your needs:

  • BLS Initial Course (Approx. 4.5 hours)
  • BLS Refresher Course (Approx. 3 hours)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC.

  • ACLS Initial Course (Approx. 15 hours, split between 2 days)
  • ACLS Refresher Course (Online Portion & Approx. 5-6 hours)

PALS is geared towards healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children, and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units. Select the option that best suits your needs:
  • PALS Initial Course (Approx. 10.5-12.5 hours)
  • PALS Refresher Course (Online portion & Approx. 5 hours in-person skills)

Community Courses

These courses are for anyone with little or no medical training to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
